CRV's herd management platform myHERD now integrates directly with Halter, making it simpler for farmers to keep their herd records up-to-date across both systems.
Animal details, matings, calvings, pregnancy test results, dry-off dates, body condition scores and weights recorded in myHERD are now sent to Halter automatically. Matings and calvings go through within about two hours of being entered, and a full sync runs every night.
It works both ways. Heat events picked up by Halter will be sent back to myHERD (from November), so heat information sits alongside herd records.
For AB, it doesn't matter whether matings are entered by a CRV technician or done DIY. Once they're in myHERD, they flow through to Halter.
Why integrations matter
Farmers are using more data than ever to make decisions, and they've been clear with us that systems need to work together. Every time the same information has to be entered twice, it costs time and creates room for error.
David Wheadon, myHERD Product Manager at CRV, says removing those barriers is a big focus for the team.
"Farmers are telling us integrations are important, and we're listening. Halter is the latest, and it won't be the last. Our aim with myHERD has always been to keep things simple. Record your information once, in one place, and let it work for you across the tools you use."
Built with farmers
The Halter integration follows other integrations.
"New Zealand farmers are innovative. They're quick to try new technology and they know what they need from it," David says. "We've really enjoyed working alongside our farmers to bring these updates to myHERD, and their feedback continues to guide what we build next."
